  • This numismatic book was published in year 2012 and released in August 2012 where it was awarded First Place Winner in 2012 Numismatic Book by IAPN ( International Association of Professional Nusimatist)
  • Published price USD90, Hardback in slipcase and  272 pages, 280 x 215 mm with 2,103 coins illustration plus with over 1,000 illustration in the attached DVD in the book ( ISBN 978 9749863541)
  • It covers the time period from the earliest types of money, both in the form of coins and in other forms like shells, various types of ingots and also includes the introduction of the baht currency system, a system based on division of eight ( the octuple system) both in the form of pot duang and flat coins and the beginnings of the present day decimal coinage. It describes the development of Thai money through a continuous historical review with excerpts from a variety of sources including the Sukhothai inscriptions, the royal chronicles of Ayutthaya, the records of individual Dutch, French and Portuguese travelers and unpublished documents from the Royal Archives.
  • In this numismatic book we have :-
  • (a) a DVD with high resolution photographs of over 1,000 specimens of the coins and other forms of money including photograph from the National Museum and leading private collections which have circulated in Siam and its tributary states up to the Fifth Reign;
  • (b) an extensive study of the metallic composition of most specimens conducted either by Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence(ED-XRF) test and or inductively coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry(ICP-MS) test to determine the exact chemical composition of the coins and other forms of money;
    • (c) detailed and extensive study of contemporary and modern counterfeit coins plus fantasy coins including comparison of genuine and counterfeit coins
