1739 Malacca-Dutch Ducatoon Or Silver Rider (Utrecht)

Below is the ducatoon or silver rider where:

Obverse showed a rider on horseback galloppng to right with the Arms of the Province of Utrecht below. The legend “MON:  FOE(D):  BELG:  PRO:  D:  GEL: &. C.Z. IN: USUM:SOCIET.    IND:        ORIENT.”(Moneta Foederatarum Belgicarum Provinciarum Ducatas Gelriae & Comitatus Zuphaniae-Coins of the United Dutch Dutchy of Gelderland and the Country of Zutphen for use of the East India Company). Mint mark- a horse with his fore legs on a hill above left.

On the reverse is the arms of the States General supported by two lions, the monogram ” V” within a small scroll work below. The legend “.CONCORDIA.  RES    PARVAE(:) CRESCUNT(.)” ( Through Concord little things grow) Year date above

The edge is plain but some with oblique milling, weight is 32.78 gm and diameter is 44mm. The composition is silver 0.941 fine ; mint:Harderwijk. The coins are dated 1739 and 1740. These ducatoon or silver rider are considered to be very rare to come by.
